Summary

As a Radiological Technologist 6, Supervisor, CT, you’ll lead a high-performing imaging team while supporting clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and exceptional patient care through leadership, mentorship, and advanced technical expertise!
Reporting to the Site Coordinator, the Radiological Technologist 6, Supervisor, CT works in a team-based environment and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of technical and staffing activities within the assigned area.
This role is responsible for:

  • Supervising and coordinating daily technical, operational, and staffing activities to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Overseeing the quality of technical work performed and supporting quality assurance, process improvement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Participating in recruitment, onboarding, orientation, coaching, performance management, and professional development of staff.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and standardization of departmental policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Facilitating education, research, and development initiatives while supporting evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • Participating in the management and optimization of computerized information and digital imaging systems.
  • Maintaining inventory, monitoring equipment and operational needs, and supporting departmental resource management.
  • Performing technical and special procedure imaging duties as required.
  • Supervising Radiological Technologists and providing leadership to a team of more than sixteen (16) up to twenty-four (24) FTE staff.

What You Bring

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Certification with the CAMRT.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' recent, related experience including two (2) years' supervisory/leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography.
  • Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging theory, practice standards, and safe radiology procedures within a client- and family-centred care model, including CAMRT guidelines, PACS, RIS/HIS systems, and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, Strengths-based care, Indigenous Cultural Safety, and culturally safe care for diverse populations.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, teach, coach, and support staff while fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment.
  • Strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, project planning, organization, adaptability, and implementing new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in specialty imaging techniques, related equipment and software applications, CPR, research methodologies, and the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Your Day to Day:

  • Supervises and coordinates daily technical, operational, and staffing activities to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery, including workload management, troubleshooting, scheduling support, and staff guidance.
  • Oversees quality assurance, quality improvement, risk management, and compliance activities by monitoring protocols, implementing corrective actions, supporting audits, and participating in Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN initiatives.
  • Supports staff performance management, recruitment, orientation, training, coaching, and professional development through evaluations, feedback, learning plans, and participation in hiring processes.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new procedures, skills, workflows, policies, and educational initiatives through staff training, in-services, orientation programs, and collaboration with leadership and practice leads.
  • Performs technical imaging duties as required, including patient care, imaging procedures, equipment operation, emergency response, and adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Oversees equipment maintenance and operational performance by coordinating service and repairs, monitoring system functionality, maintaining records, and identifying process improvements.
  • Maintains departmental operations through inventory management, workload and budget reporting, computerized records management, and support of digital imaging and information systems.
  • Facilitates research, evidence-based practice, and continuous professional development by promoting staff participation in research and maintaining current knowledge of developments within the field.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, occupational health and safety standards, infection control requirements, and other related duties as assigned.
