The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $41.35/Hr.

Provide compassionate, hands-on care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. Education:

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant. Current basic cardiac life support certification.

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.

Location:

• St. John’s Hospice (14 beds) *Sub-Acute: Hospice care is intended for those who are going through their last days of life and are receiving care for end of life. The first community hospice on Vancouver's West Side and is situated in a beautiful location on the University of British Columbia's campus.

 Your Day to Day:

• Delivers safe, respectful nursing care while prioritizing individualized care plans.

• Performs comprehensive assessments and reports abnormal findings to RN or team members.

• Communicates with physicians and carries out and processes medical orders accurately.

• Documents all care, treatments, and patient progress in appropriate systems.

• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, and preparation for procedures.

• Administers medications (excluding IV) and monitors patient responses.

• Responds to emergencies and reports incidents according to protocols.

• Supports patient and family education, encouraging participation in care decisions.

• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge preparation.

• Assists with staff orientation, participates in meetings, and performs basic clerical and equipment-related duties.
