The salary range for this position is CAD $38.88/Hr. - CAD $55.89/Hr.

Summary

We’re hiring a BI Developer Analyst to join Providence Health Care and help turn healthcare data into actionable insights. In this role, you’ll build ETL processes, reports, and dashboards that support clinical and operational teams. You’ll play a key part in managing data, ensuring it’s accurate, secure, and accessible, while supporting our HIM Data Management Program.

At PHC, you’ll be part of a mission driven organization known for compassionate care, innovation, and excellence across a network of hospitals and care facilities in British Columbia. You’ll also collaborate with Information Management and IT teams across Lower Mainland Health Organizations to troubleshoot issues and improve systems.

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) plus 3+ years of experience in data modeling, ETL, Microsoft BI tools (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI), advanced T-SQL, and business requirements analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recent experience coordinating and documenting change management processes for complex information systems.
  • Strong business analysis, project management, and relationship-building skills, with excellent interpersonal communication.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong experience with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and Power BI for dashboard design.

  • 3+ years of T-SQL development and database querying.

  • 3+ years of programming experience (e.g., C#, VB.NET, Java) plus scripting (Python or similar).

  • Hands-on experience in ETL environments and data integration across multiple platforms.

  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data quality, data mapping, and data structures.

  • Knowledge of OLAP technologies and dimensional modeling.

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, including scoping and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with HIM business processes and healthcare data systems is an asset.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including simplifying complex concepts.

  • Proven project management, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and mentor others.

Your Day to Day:

  • Participate in the full development lifecycle of the HIM Data Management Platform (planning, development, testing, deployment, and support).
  • Contribute to data model design in collaboration with BI Architect Lead.
  • Gather requirements and develop ETL processes, reports, and data integration solutions.
  • Validate end-to-end business logic, data mappings, and data quality.
  • Deliver ad-hoc and scheduled reports, dashboards, and management tools.
  • Maintain and enhance ETL workflows, adapting to changing data sources and business needs.
  • Support data migration and ongoing data management within the platform.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and production issues.
  • Collaborate with IMITS and business users to resolve system issues and ensure data integrity.
  • Provide user support, training, documentation, and technical guidance to team members.
