Join our team as a Communications Coordinator and help shape the voice of Providence Health Care!

In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support programs, services, and major initiatives, including the new St. Paul’s Hospital. You’ll create engaging content across digital platforms, develop clear and compelling communications materials, and play a key role in keeping staff, clinicians, and the community informed. What You Bring

Education, Training and Experience

• Completion of a university degree in a related field such as communications, journalism or marketing/advertising, plus one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in organizational communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated computer literacy includes fully competent skills in the use of thefollowing software: Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Copilot, andSharepoint tools, Canva, and project management systems.
• Advanced computer skills in electronic communication and technology, publishingand web-based communications.
• Demonstrated communication skills including written, verbal, critical and strategic.
• Ability to support with budget tracking and other administrative tasks.
• Experience in supporting events including scheduling, working with diverse partners,set up and take down, ordering materials and catering, and other related activities.
• Independent initiative, sound judgment and developed decision–making abilities.
• Demonstrated organizational, project management and time management skillsincluding the ability to work to deadlines.
• A results oriented and enthusiastic team player who thrives on new challenges.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Your Day to Day:

1. Researches, interviews, writes, edits and produces diverse communications materials such as articles, newsletters, bulletins, web publishing, news releases, speeches, briefing notes, brochures, pamphlets, backgrounders, special features, presentations, community reports and other materials, in collaboration with other Communication team members, on issues of importance to both internal and external partners.
2. Collaborates with senior leaders, managers and senior support staff to plan, organize and coordinate special events across the organization.
3. Ensures that PHC’s internal and external websites are updated and current by producing, revising and organizing content and other on-line resources.
4. Assists the team with the execution of strategic communications plans for the organization.
5. Exhibits a sense of urgency, diplomacy and timeliness in the managing of information requests from staff, physicians, public, media and other external partners.
6. Monitors and manages previously approved budgets for the department, specialty publications and events.
7. Provides system and administrative support to the Director, Communications & Public Affairs.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
