Summary

Are you reliable, organized, and ready to help keep essential supplies moving smoothly? We’re looking for a Stores & Transportation Attendant to support the flow of stock and materials across our facility and between hospital sites.

 

In this role, you’ll receive and inspect incoming goods, stock shelves, rotate inventory, and assemble supplies based on departmental requests. You’ll also identify and return damaged items, maintain accurate records, and assist with inventory counts. A key part of your work includes transporting materials using a 1‑ton delivery vehicle, completing safety checks, and keeping both the stores area and vehicle clean and organized. You’ll also support mail delivery and other related tasks that keep our operations running efficiently.

What You Bring

Education and Experience:

  • Grade 12, plus one years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A valid class 5 motor vehicle license is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Your Day to Day:

  • Receives, inspects, unpacks, counts, and checks incoming goods against purchase orders. Enters information, prints receiving reports, and maintains files for Accounts Payable, ensuring items reach the correct destination.
  • Stocks shelves, rotates inventory, and maintains an organized, accurate supply area.
  • Assembles and issues supplies based on departmental requisitions, maintaining records for charging the appropriate units.
  • Identifies incorrect or damaged goods, contacts suppliers, obtains return authorization, packs items for return, and completes all required documentation.
  • Coordinates distribution by prioritizing deliveries of goods and equipment and completing required Plant safety checks prior to transport.
  • Prepares write‑off documentation for stale‑dated inventory and processes charges to the appropriate account.
  • Provides information on stock items to departments and nursing units as needed.
  • Collects, sorts, and delivers mail, and supports photocopying and duplicating tasks.
  • Transports a variety of supplies and materials within the facility and between hospital sites using designated vehicles.
  • Assists with central stores operations and physical inventory counts as required.
  • Maintains records related to daily work and completes documentation for maintenance performed on the transportation vehicle.
  • Keeps stores areas and vehicles clean, safe, and well‑organized.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
