The salary range for this position is CAD $31.80/Hr. - CAD $45.71/Hr.

Summary

As a User Readiness Specialist, you’ll play a key role in preparing clinical and non-clinical staff across BC’s major health authorities to confidently use essential registration and scheduling systems. Reporting to the Manager of Registration Standards, Quality and Projects, you’ll design, deliver, and evaluate computer application training for diverse staff groups. You’ll collaborate with an expert support team to strengthen Client Identity Management and registration workflows across multiple sites, continuously refining training programs to ensure they meet organizational standards and performance outcomes.

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Business Administration/Management/Information Technology and/or Information Management with specialized courses in Training, plus two (2) to three (3) years of experience in software implementation project management, including documentation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of policy and standards for client identity management and client registration data collection.
  • Working knowledge of information security and confidentiality guidelines and policies such as the Freedom of Information Protection and Privacy Act.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to manage own work activities to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues, and recognize when to escalate.
  • Ability to write training materials and edit training materials written by others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse user community.
  • Knowledge of staff hiring procedures.
  • Strong exposure to a variety of corporate-level client registration and scheduling healthcare applications, as a supervisor and/or trainer.
  • Basic understanding of businesses process re-engineering.

Your Day to Day:

  • Plan and deliver training for EMPI, Client Registration/ADT, Client Scheduling, and HealthNet systems, including scheduling sessions and managing logistics.

  • Provide system training during nursing orientation and additional sessions as needed.

  • Manage end-user access, ensure confidentiality compliance, and coordinate with IMITS and Provincial Registry teams when required.

  • Support selection of hardware, software, and tools for training delivery.

  • Develop and maintain training materials reflecting current software releases and updates.

  • Assist users in defining and documenting workflow changes related to new systems or updates.

  • Support business analysts and data quality teams by implementing process changes aligned with MOH, CIHI MIS, provincial, and organizational guidelines.

  • Participate in user-acceptance testing to understand system functionality and issues raised.

  • Maintain an accurate training environment that reflects live system standards and configurations.

  • Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting and process guidance.

  • Maintain subject-matter expertise across EMPI, Registration/ADT, Scheduling, and HealthNet systems.

  • Represent the program at meetings and support adoption of new policies and initiatives.

  • Monitor and evaluate training outcomes to ensure client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
