Your Day to Day:
- Provide clinical ethics consultations and act as a resource for ethical decision-making with patients, residents, staff, physicians, and volunteers.
- Participate in and may chair PHC Ethics Committees, Forums, and relevant internal or external task groups.
- Collaborate with the Director and leadership team to support ethics services and provide consultation to Boards as required.
- Assess educational needs and develop, plan, and deliver ethics education sessions such as “Ethics for Lunch,” conferences, and seminars.
- Assist in planning and teaching within the Clinical Ethics Fellowship Program and other clinician training sessions.
- Facilitate the development, review, and implementation of PHC’s ethics-related policies and guidelines consistent with its Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Engage in ethics research and integrate findings into clinical practice through participation in multidisciplinary activities.
- Support administration of ethics services by planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs in collaboration with other departments and staff.
- Participate in clinical ethics process improvements and quality initiatives as requested by the Director.
- Attend regular Ethics Leadership Forum meetings to address organizational and educational ethics needs.
