The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46/Hr. - CAD $56.82/Hr.

Summary

The Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC) is a new and unique initiative launched by Providence Health Care in partnership with the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) and in collaboration with Integrated Youth Services initiatives in Canada. The IYS-CC, while closely affiliated with Foundry, is an independent initiative and its activities are coordinated with a CAMH team of professionals.

Reporting to the Leader, IYS-CC, the Curriculum Developer works closely with IYS-CC in the development and operational implementation of training programs and experiences that support active learning using best online instructional practices and learning technologies. The Curriculum Developer is responsible for:

  • designing, building, implementing, evaluating, improving and coordinating a wide range of training and their components, including reviewing and assessing courses, ensuring that they are developed using sound design and development practices;
  • implementing guidelines and setting standards for the structure and overall quality of course materials;
  • developing training goals and objectives; writing and editing that fits the functional need of each purpose within a variety of purposes;
  • designing activities, materials and/or visual aids that support training goals including facilitative questions for learning cohorts;
  • developing and revising curriculum in response to research, feedback and data.

What You Bring

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent related experience in curriculum development and as a leader, facilitator and/or coach preferably in a youth health care and/or community setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with the pedagogies of applied education and the use of technology in the delivery of education.
  • Experience teaching and/or delivering or facilitating workshops for adult learners in varied formats of delivery (online, blended, face-to-face) and/or a certificate in adult education is an asset.
  • Experience with a learning management system also considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of educational theory and design, curriculum development, preferably in a change management context.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and awareness and skills to support participant learning and of adult learning theory and practice.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Articulate Storyline) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the impact of learner racial identity (e.g. White, people of colour and Indigenous) on the effectiveness of the training and bring an anti-oppressive lens to education.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate projects, monitor and update project tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and judgment.
  • Ability to type proficiently.
  • Ability to effectively use a variety of computerized software, databases and systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom, customer relationship management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce),and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project).
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Your Day to Day:

  • Designs, develops and implements training courses and learning experiences offered by IYS-CC by collaborating with IYS-CC team members, advisory committees and partners.
  • Develops training goals and objectives; writes and edits online curriculum; creates and/or secures supporting activities and materials; designs and creates presentation materials including PowerPoint files; liaises with content and subject matter experts; revises curriculum in response to research, feedback and data.
  • Engages key stakeholders to inform education and development requirements and the design, development and delivery of a multipronged and blended educational approach.
  • Creates evaluation tools and analyzes pre-existing data received from course evaluations to make recommendations about possible improvements.
  • Coordinates and/or administers projects to design, develop and/or deliver courses, including budgeting processes and timelines.
  • Provides support to the learning management system (LMS) project team when building the components of the course, and implementing learning activities/tasks, building assessments and developing digital content from source materials in appropriate media format.
  • Provides input about emerging trends, research-based approaches and quality standards for the development and delivery of courses designed to encourage active student learning, participation and overall engagement.
  • Represents the team on internal/external project teams, working groups and committees.
  • Leads or supports special projects as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
