Summary

PHC is hiring casual Staff Scheduling Clerks!

Providence Health Care is seeking administrative professionals with experience in clerical duties, timekeeping, scheduling, and customer service. Staff Scheduling Clerks play a crucial role in allocating and calling relief nursing and/or allied health staff while adhering to contractual requirements, factoring staff availability, and determined priority. If you are detail oriented, proficient with computers, and are seeking opportunities for growth and professional development, this may be the role for you! 

This role is in-person, onsite, involving 6 weeks of full-time training with shifts starting at 5:30AM, 6AM, or 2PM. Interested candidates must be available to work the full rotational training schedule. 

What You Bring

Education

  • Grade 12, plus three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment and software.

Your Day to Day:

  • Receives and prioritizes requests for relief coverage using computerized staffing systems.
  • Allocates staff based on skill set, unit needs, and independent judgment; calls in relief staff as needed.
  • Processes approved requests for vacations, leaves, and terminations with appropriate documentation and calculations.
  • Manages timekeeping records for nursing staff, submits to payroll, and handles payroll inquiries.
  • Maintains records on relief staff, including contact information, availability, and work hours.
  • Compiles and reports workload statistics, such as staff requirements and unfilled hours.
  • Performs clerical duties like answering phones, scheduling meetings, and maintaining files.
