Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $41.35/Hr.

Summary

We're currently hiring for our GI Endoscopy unit—bring your expertise and passion to this specialized area!

 

As a Staff LPN, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Performing assessments and plans, implementing and providing personal and nursing care to clients.
  • Participating in a variety of meetings, including care conferences.
  • Assisting with the orientation of new staff and students as required.
  • Responding to and reports incidents according to established procedures.
  • Supporting fellow healthcare professionals. 
  • Operating within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values. 

**The successful applicant(s) for LPN roles within the GI Clinic will need to take turns taking on-call. 

What You Bring

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.
  • Advanced preparation in GI Endoscopy that includes completion of recognized post-basic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing and a certificate of completion from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) in gastroenterology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Preference given to those with recent related GI endoscopy experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Delivers safe, respectful, and individualized nursing care by following established procedures and evolving care plans, including assessments, monitoring, and basic nursing interventions.
  • Performs and evaluates a wide range of clinical procedures, including medication administration, IV management, wound care, catheterizations, and personal care tasks.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, supports RNs in complex care, consults as needed, and communicates with physicians regarding patient care and orders.
  • Assesses client and family needs, promotes autonomy, builds therapeutic relationships, and encourages participation in daily living activities.
  • Supports documentation and clerical tasks, maintains accurate patient records, and assists with admissions, discharges, appointments, and supply management.
  • Engages in continuous learning and safety practices, including equipment use, infection control, emergency procedures, staff training, and quality improvement initiatives.
