Summary
Providence Health Care's John Rudy Clinic (JRC) is now hiring multiple casual Clerks to help support their multidisciplinary primary health team supporting people living with HIV, including doctors, nurses, social workers, dieticians, and other health care professionals. With a focus on providing care for those who may be under-served in health care and benefit most from wrap around services, the JRC also provide other services for those not registered in their primary health clinic, including:
Please note shifts for this position will be 800-1600, 830-1630, 900-1700 and 12-2000, with weekends and stats off.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager or designate and receiving work direction from the Physicians, the position performs admitting, secretarial and clerical duties for designated clinics/outpatient areas. Schedules and books outpatient appointments and admits patients by interviewing and obtaining personal patient information and entering information in health information system. Contacts physician's offices to request and/or transmit information in as per procedures. Provides pre-appointment instruction as per procedures. Generates reports from statistics for operation purposes; and performs a variety of clerical duties such as typing, sorting and distributing mail, maintaining office supplies, filing and retrieving documents, photocopying/faxing/scanning, receiving telephone calls, visitors and hospital staff and directing or transferring them to appropriate personnel, taking messages and providing routine information.
Coordinate and schedule patient appointments: Book, adjust, and confirm appointments; provide pre-appointment instructions; and ensure charts and documentation are complete and available.
Support patient registration and intake: Interview patients, enter and update personal and medical information in the health information system, and prepare consent forms and standard documents.
Provide reception and administrative support: Answer calls, greet visitors, direct inquiries, manage filing systems, prepare correspondence, and support clinic flow by assisting with test bookings and form processing.
Maintain records, reporting, and supplies: Compile statistical reports, manage downtime procedures, maintain a tidy work area, and support the clinic team with general clerical tasks like faxing, scanning, and document distribution.
