Summary
Relational Security Officers play a critical role in reducing workplace violence and promoting cultural safety. Training for RSOs is based on trauma-informed practice, integrating the knowledge of how people are affected by trauma, into the anticipation, desescalation, and prevention of aggression in healthcare settings. RSOs use effective and culturally informed communication to build healthy and positive relationships with patients, residents and visitors, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. Relational Security Officers work at both St. Paul's Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph Hospital.
We are seeking applications from candidates who strive to make a difference in their communities; have a genuine interest in principles and practices of equity, diversity, and inclusion; are able to practice the principles of Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility; and strive to treat all with positive regard.
Successful candidates must be available for 5 weeks of full-time, in-person training, commencing at the start date, without exceptions. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
