What You Will Do

As a key member of the health records team, you’ll help ensure the accuracy, security, and accessibility of patient information—supporting high-quality care behind the scenes. Your attention to detail and organization will help keep records processing running smoothly and efficiently.

Your Day to Day

As a Health Records Clerk, you will:

• Retrieve patient charts from units and prepare documents for electronic scanning.

• Scan, index, and verify records using computerized scanning software.

• Apply indexing criteria to organize documents correctly and ensure image quality meets standards.

• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, storing records, and lifting boxes as needed.

• Retrieve archived patient records upon request.

• Track and calculate departmental statistics.

• Provide reception coverage and general clerical support for the department.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

• Grade 12
• One year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Skills And Abilities:

• Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm
