The Housekeeping Aide:
- Performs routine cleaning and disinfecting of areas such as patient/resident rooms, and ambulatory, clinical, procedure, operating, diagnostic and emergency rooms, including all elements within these areas such as floors, stairways, walls, windows, and ceilings.
- Performs daily cleaning and disinfecting of all high contact elements and surfaces such as patient equipment, toilets, sinks, furniture, doors, and dispensers.
- Replenishes dispenser supplies such as paper towel, toilet paper, liquid hand soap, lotion, and alcohol-based hand rub.
- Performs discharge cleaning and disinfecting of in-patient and resident rooms including stripping and making beds, and tidying items. Transports soiled linen to pick up location.
- Transports and/or moves items such as equipment and furniture using appropriate equipment.
- Performs daily floor care and carpet cleaning and maintenance such as dust checking and mopping floors, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpet and matting with appropriate equipment.
- Maintains related equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as pads, bags and filters.
- Empties and cleans waste containers and transports waste for disposal in compactor and/or incinerator.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment and furniture as well as supply needs to the Supervisor.
- Reports hazards, unusual occurrences, accidents and unsafe situations to the Supervisor or designate.
- Performs other related duties as required.
