The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46/Hr. - CAD $65.35/Hr.

Summary

Providence Health Care is now hiring for a super exciting new Software Delivery Manager to help manage the projects of our brand new DevOps Enablement team. As the organization gears up for the opening of the New St. Paul's Hospital in 2027, this team will help ensure our clinical teams have the organizational support they need to continue to deliver exceptional patient care.

Reporting to the DevOps Manager, the Software Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the Health Informatics business and clinical systems, applications, and related automations as they move through their life cycle from concept, development, deployment and, eventually retirement. This role involves tracking deliverables, identifying barriers, and ensuring that cross- functional teams of specialists work together effectively to deliver successful outcomes.

The Software Delivery Manager ensures the successful delivery of software to production through strong planning, collaboration, facilitation, and coaching. By applying Lean and Agile practices, the Software Delivery Manager helps enable teams to achieve iterative delivery and deploy code to production with the highest quality. This role leads change management efforts, building strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure project success, improve in-house solutions, and drive adoption of new tools and processes.

Your duties will include:

  • Agile Project Management & Delivery: Leads cross-functional teams through Lean and Agile practices to ensure iterative delivery of software projects, from concept to production. Tracks deliverables, facilitates team alignment, and drives roadmaps to meet project goals efficiently.
  • DevOps Enablement & Adoption: Facilitates the adoption of DevOps practices such as automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. Collaborates with development, operations, and partners to support stable, high-quality software deployments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Builds strong relationships with Subject Matter Experts, vendor support, and internal teams to address complex issues. Ensures transparent communication, alignment on goals, and effective change management during transitions to new tools or processes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Metrics: Monitors project progress using metrics and data, reporting on outcomes to refine delivery processes. Analyzes system performance and implements improvements to optimize efficiency and quality throughout the software lifecycle.

What You Bring

Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent related experience in an information systems technical environment including experience managing software projects in a complex technology environment using Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Lean and Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban including experience as a Scrum Master, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of Lean and Agile Software Delivery practices.
  • Agile and Project Management certifications such as CSM, PSM, and PMP preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Jira for managing team workflows and dashboards.
  • Operational understanding of Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services cloud platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology and to translate business needs into application or systems requirements.
  • Proven ability to apply systems thinking by identifying patterns, connections, and interdependencies to align strategy with implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead and empower teams, drive roadmaps, and build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting knowledge for technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of software testing and quality assurance practices.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Facilitates iterative software delivery by leading cross-functional teams, guiding them through Agile and Lean practices, and ensuring alignment from concept through to production.
  • Facilitates adoption of DevOps practices such as automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. Fosters collaboration between development, operations, and other internal and external partners, to support stable and reliable software delivery.
  • Oversees the transition of new software solutions (both commercial and internally developed) from test to production cloud DevOps environment. Likewise, oversees the thorough decommissioning and shutdown of software solutions when they are no longer needed by the organization.
  • Leads team meetings, facilitates discussions, and collects input on the progression of software projects, ensuring transparency and shared accountability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), vendor support and internal development teams to resolve complex problems and ensure the smooth integration of solutions into production environments.
  • Tracks project status and metrics throughout the software lifecycle, reporting on progress and post-deployment outcomes. Leverages metrics to drive continuous improvement and refine processes.
  • Leads change management initiatives by guiding teams through the transition to new processes and tools, ensuring minimal disruption and successful adoption of DevOps practices.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment on goals, gathering feedback, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Performs other duties as required.
