Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr. - CAD $63.47/Hr.

Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator to join our team.

 

In this role, you will coordinate day-to-day operations of a designated nursing unit, supervise staff, and serve as a clinical resource to both nursing and interdisciplinary teams in the provision of patient care. You will promote research, quality improvement, and education initiatives while providing visible, accessible clinical support to nursing staff.

Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant, qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area, plus three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Your Day to Day:

  • Collaborates with the Patient Care Manager and Physician Leaders to develop and monitor unit or service activities, overseeing staff performance and coordinating daily operations.
  • Addresses staffing issues by supervising staff, orienting new employees, managing work assignments, and authorizing overtime as necessary.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members by providing guidance on clinical practices, demonstrating procedures, and troubleshooting care concerns.
  • Designs and implements educational programs for nursing staff, assessing learning needs, and developing proposals to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Reviews and updates nursing policies and procedures, communicating changes to staff and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Develops and leads patient education programs, facilitating sessions that promote health behaviors and assessing patient progress.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds, providing insights on patient and family progress, and identifies trends to suggest program modifications.
  • Engages in quality improvement initiatives and research activities, documenting outcomes, maintaining records, and reporting on the effectiveness of clinical education services.
