Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $41.35/Hr.

What You Bring

Education / Training

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience within the last 18 months. 
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant or be in the process of becoming registered.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.

Your Day to Day:

  • Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents according to policies and individualized care plans.
  • Conducts head-to-toe assessments, monitors for abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicates with the RN/RPN as needed.
  • Communicates with physicians regarding patient care, transcribes and processes orders, and documents care provided.
  • Prepares patients for surgical/diagnostic procedures, administers medications, and monitors their effects.
  • Identifies and responds to patient/resident and family learning needs, providing educational materials and incorporating teaching activities into care plans.
  • Responds to incidents such as Codes, injuries, hazardous spills, aggressive behavior, and fire alarms, and fills out appropriate forms.
  • Participates in the development, modification, and evaluation of individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assists with discharge planning by considering patient/resident status, external supports, and other relevant factors.
