Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr. - CAD $63.47/Hr.

Summary

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will coordinate the day to day operations of a designatenursing unit and supervise staff. You will act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members in the provision of direct care to patients/residents. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Patient Care Manager in assessing clinical development needs/interests of staff, and with orientation and educational programs.
  • Assist with the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives within the program team.

What You Bring

Education:

  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant, qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area, plus three (3) years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures suitable for the service area
  • Capacity to navigate and advocate for change
  • Exemplary role modeling of conflict resolution strategies
  • Interpersonal effectiveness in dealings with others
  • Physical capability to fulfill position duties
  • Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work
  • Proficiency in teaching, coaching, and providing clinical supervision

  • Skill matching of staff abilities with clinical needs

Your Day to Day:

  • Coordinates nursing unit activities, including staff supervision, workload management, and problem-solving.
  • Monitors patient/resident needs and staffing levels, adjusting assignments accordingly.
  • Acts as a clinical resource, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Participates in patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Facilitates consultations with other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Provides direct nursing care and assists with orientation of new staff.
  • Identifies and addresses staff learning needs, facilitating education sessions.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on policies and procedures.
  • Supports staff development through mentoring and conflict resolution.
  • Participates in research initiatives and implements findings into practice.
