Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

Summary

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the RN Cardiac Cath Lab/Procedure Room/Electrophysiology Lab/Cardiac Short Stay, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.

What You Bring

Education:

  • Current practicing registration as a BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Completion of a post graduate critical care course, or one year recent experience in a critical care or equivalent setting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Organizational skills to manage work effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating related equipment.

The Heart Centre at St. Paul’s is BC’s only referral centre for the most complex cardiac cases and is a leader in cardiac obstetrics, heart rhythm services and heart valve procedures. In addition, St. Paul’s is the only hospital in BC to perform adult heart transplants and holds expertise in all forms of heart disease.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care.
  • Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
  • Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary.
  • Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
  • Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
